Chapter 20
A few days later, Blake and her family had to return to Menagerie since Ghira had many things to do, especially the training of new employees for the Arc Industries. But before the Belladonnas left, Jaune gave Ghira a video that would help with safety within the workplace. Ghira was happy that Jaune was thinking of his employee’s safety, unlike a particular multi-billion lien company.
A few more days after that, it was Jaune’s sixteenth birthday. He didn’t have any friends, so a party was useless, so he proposed that they have fun swimming since it was pretty warm. The Arc’s was excited to go to a water park, but Jaune told them that he had a pool nearby. Olive didn’t want to miss out on the slides in the water park. Hence, she protested and tried to convince the family that the water park was better since it had fun slides.
“Come on, Olive, please,” Jaune pleaded. “I promise that you would enjoy the pool that I made better than the piss infested water park. I know that you love the slides in the water park, but if you trust me, I know that you would enjoy your time in the pool that I made.”
“Since you promised,” Olive said. “I will try and have fun in the pool that you made. But if I don’t enjoy my time, I will not speak with you for a while.”
“As long as you give it a try,” Jaune said. “I promise you’ll love it.”
“Anyway,” Giallo said. “How far did you build the pool from the house?”
“Oh,” Jaune said. “It’s just in the back of the house. The same place that I trained for a long time.”
“Seriously!” Giallo shouted. “How did none of us ever see it?”
“That’s because I made a device that messes with one’s perception,” Jaune said. “You’d understand once you see it.”
When everyone headed to the back of the house, they still didn’t know where the pool would be until Jaune turned off the perception filter. Everyone was surprised at what suddenly appeared, a structure no bigger than a garden shed.
“Uhm…Jaune?” Giallo said. “Are you messing with us?”
“Of course not,” Jaune said. “I made a promise to Olive that she would have fun, and fun she will get. Now, come on and follow me inside.”
“All of us aren’t going to fit inside there, Jaune,” Amarilla said. “I don’t think there is even a pool inside there. Maybe a kiddie pool, but if that’s the case, we don’t have to go inside.”
“Please, trust me,” Jaune said. “You’d be surprised.”
Everyone went along with Jaune to humor him. But what they saw when they went inside blew their mind. The inside was bigger than the outside. The place has more space than the four Arc Manor put together.
“This is so cool!” Olive said. “I don’t care about the water park anymore. Just seeing this place is so cool!”
“Ha-ha-ha!” Jaune laughed. “You guys haven’t seen anything yet. Come with me, let’s go to the pool.”
Everyone followed Jaune to a place that was labelled as Aquatic Training Zone. When they entered, it was a massive room with a pool that looked more like a lake. Then they saw Jaune head to a control panel, hit a few switches, and the place transformed into a water park. The place had more slides than they could ever want to slide on.
“What do you think, Olive?” Jaune said. “Do you still want to head to the water park?”
“No way!” Olive shouted. “This is much, much better than any water park. But why was it labelled as an aquatic training zone?”
“That’s because this place was meant for training,” Jaune explained. “This place can simulate aquatic Grimm such as Leviathan and Sea Feilong. You can fight them in the safety of the training ground”.
“Whoa!” Ivory said. “Are you saying that you can make a physical hologram of a Leviathan? Can we see it?”
“Sure,” Jaune said. “Why not.”
Jaune then went to the control panel, and the water park slides were gone. The next thing they knew, they heard a loud roar. Then it appeared out of nowhere, two Leviathans along with some Sea Feilong.
“Oh shit!” Ivory swore. The appearance of the Grimm startled her even though she knew it was a simulation. “Jaune? Are you sure this aren’t real Grimm?”
“They’re not,” Jaune replied. “Because the real thing is so much bigger.”
“Wait, Wait, Wait,” Ivory said. “If this is the aquatic training zone, can I assume that there are other types of training zone?”
“And that’s why you’re the analytical person in the Arc family,” Jaune said. “You were able to realize that there are, in fact, different training zones. But enough about that, we’re here to have fun. It’s my birthday after all.”
“You’re right,” Ivory said. “So, how high can you make the slides go? I want to try the scariest one you can project.”
That was a mistake on Ivory’s part. She asked for the tallest water slide that Jaune could project, but she didn’t know that the aquatic zone was akin to an open area. With a push of a button, the ceiling of the room opened. The ceiling was now over five-hundred-meters tall.
“W-Wait a minute!” Ivory said. “I-I didn’t know that the room was taller than it looked. I don’t want to go up there!”
“Well, too bad,” Jaune said. “You made me wear a maid outfit for a week. A week, Ivory. And don’t even push the blame on the others. They told me that it was you that came up with the idea.”
“B-But, but…” Ivory couldn’t say anything. Jaune then grabbed her and brought her to the top of the water slide that he projected. The water slide had a glass design, meaning that it was transparent, and it had more twists and turns than you can imagine. Every inch you move, you would be able to see how high you were and how fast you were dropping to the water.
Once Jaune and Ivory were on the top of the water slide, there was a compartment where the person could stand and be dropped. Jaune pushed Ivory inside it, and he didn’t care if she was ready or not. He hit a button that dropped her. She dropped down the slide, and she screamed her lungs out. It was here that the Arc sisters swore never to piss off Jaune.
After everyone had fun in the pool, Jaune gave them a tour of the training area. None of the Arc family could fathom how such a building was possible. The sheer size of each training area was around half the size of Domrémy, but that wasn’t the most shocking. A room called the Danger Room was an empty room, or at least that’s what one would see when they entered, but with a click of a switch, the room could simulate the entire City of Vale. Jaune was able to create it when he went to Vale. He took a bunch of photos to input into the system and render a simulation.
“What do you think?” Jaune asked. “In this room, I can train in multiple types of scenarios, such as a horde of Grimm running amok in the City of Vale, or I can simulate a bank robbery, etc….”
“This is out of this world,” Giallo said. “I don’t even think Atlas has a technology of this level. How did you come upon such technology?”
“I didn’t get them anywhere,” Jaune said. “I created them. If there is something I need, I make them.”
“Magnificent,” Giallo said. “Say, Jaune. Do you mind if I train here?”
“Not at all,” Jaune said. “Use it to your heart’s content.”
After that, Jaune continued giving them the tour. When they got into the garage, they saw many different airships, none of which they recognized. All this airship was hand-built by Jaune. He only used AoE to procure the materials he needed, raw materials.
“What’s in that room,” Saphron asked. “It looks like some kind of forge”.
“That’s because it is,” Jaune said. “I’m currently in the process of designing a weapon. A mixture of a hammer and an Axe, an Axe-Hammer if you will.”
Jaune then showed them the design of the weapon. It was modelled after Thor’s Stormbreaker from Marvel: Infinity War. The problem is that Jaune doesn’t have a device to melt Uru. In the MCU, Eitri needed the power of a Neutron star to melt Uru. Jaune didn’t want to just use his AoE. Instead, he’s trying to figure out a way to make a device that can mimic the power of a Neutron star, but he is failing.. Nevertheless, Jaune wasn’t going to give up that easily.
