Chapter 14
It has been a long time since Jaune trained in his old training ground behind the Arc family house. It’s been a week since he told Saphron and Terra that he plans to go to Vale. Jaune was pushing his body beyond what any veteran Huntsman could. This made him suspicious.
Ever since Jaune started training, he has never felt any limit, which should be impossible since humans have a limit. Although that limit can be broken when you train hard enough, Jaune never had to do that. His body just seems to get stronger and stronger. He wanted to meet with OTG and ask him what is going on.
To be honest, it wasn’t regular training that made him suspicious of his body. When he used AoE to imagine himself having the power of Thor, that made him start thinking. Thor’s power is immense. It isn’t something that a human could just contain and wield. And yet, he can use it as if he had it all his life. What was most shocking was the fact that the power was permanent.
“This is insane!” Jaune shouted. “I knew that Arc of Embodiment is OP, especially with Infinite Formless Magic, but I didn’t know I can just imagine other beings’ power and gain it for myself.”
Jaune was testing out the powers of Thor. His body was shrouded in lightning. Every punch he threw, lightning would surge in the direction of his punch. Now that he has the power of Thor, Jaune wants to use it the best he can. No use wasting it now that he has it. At least he knows now that it is possible to gain the powers of others. Maybe it is even possible to give powers to people like Saphron and Terra to protect themselves.
‘I can deal with that later,’ Jaune thought. ‘For now, I need to figure out the full extent of Thor’s powers. Maybe I can even make Stormbreaker and use it as my main weapon later.’
With that, Jaune continued testing out the powers of Thor. Jaune could even do things that Thor never did, such as produce a blade of lightning or a Human-shaped Lightning Beast. Jaune was having fun creating abilities using the power of Thor.
Later that evening, Jaune was trying to figure out how he could meet with OTG. He never did it on his own before. The times he met with OTG, he was brought to his place. After three hours of trying to figure it out, he decided to sleep. It was then that he found himself in front of OTG.
“Good to see you again, Jaune,” OTG said. “I felt that you were trying to contact me. Is there anything you need?”
“Indeed, I was,” Jaune replied. “Is my body different from the people of Remnant? Do I need to be careful of my blood being taken?”
“First, to ease your worry,” OTG said. “You don’t have to worry about your blood or your DNA being taken. No one, I mean no one, can detect anything from your DNA. Even if you were dissected, it would seem your body is normal. Second, yes, your body is different from the people of Remnant. It had to be if I was to gift you with Infinity.”
“Is there anything I have to worry about?” Jaune asked. “For example, having a child. Will there be any issues?”
“There won’t be,” OTG said. “It would be the other way around. All your children will be healthy. And the powers that you’ve given yourself using Arc of Embodiment could be passed down to them.”
“What about AoE and Infinite Formless Magic?” Jaune asked. “Will any of my children, be able to inherit it?”
“Unfortunately, no,” OTG said. “Those can’t be passed down. I made that power for you, and you alone. By now, you must have realized that your AoE is much more powerful than the one in Fairy Tail”.
“I have,” Jaune said. “I mean somehow gained the power of Thor.”
“Explore it,” OTG said. “The more you use it, the more you’ll be able to understand it. And in the future, maybe one of your other wishes will be granted”.
“My other wishes?” Jaune said. “But my only other wish is to travel the multiverse.”
OTG didn’t say or do anything except smile. Jaune saw that OTG was starting to fade. The reason for that is he was waking up. Upon waking up, Jaune felt two people with him. Turns out, Saphron and Terra snuck into his room when everyone was already asleep.
A week later, Jaune, Saphron and Terra were heading to Vale. They were outside the Arc Manor to say goodbye to the family since they’d be gone up to two weeks. Saphron and Terra were both excited to go to Vale. Both have never left Domrémy before. Amarilla wanted to bring them to bullhead port, but Jaune told her they weren’t heading to the port.
Amarilla wasn’t the only one curious, so Jaune tapped something on his hand, and a Quinjet arrived on top of them. When it landed, Jaune, Saphron and Terra boarded it and said their goodbye.
“Wow! I guess you do have money,” Saphron said. “How much did something like this cost?”
“I didn’t buy this,” Jaune replied. “I built it from the ground up. It is one of the best things that I’ve made.”
“You build this?!” Terra asked in shock. “How?!”
“I got a place in the back of the Manor,” Jaune said. “It’s the place that I’ve trained and the place where I build crazy things. If you like, I can show it to you girls.”
“There’s nothing weird in there, is there?” Saphron asked. “I remember when you were young, you had some items that looked weird.”
Jaune knew exactly what Saphron was talking about. When he was young and didn’t have complete control of his AoE, it would appear when he imagined some crazy thing. One such thing was a stress ball in the shape of a breast. Jaune was so embarrassed when his mom caught him with it just seconds after he accidentally created it.
“There’s no such thing in there,” Jaune said. “That I can promise you.”
“Okay, I’ll believe you,” Saphron said. “So, what kind of things do you have stored there?”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk,” Jaune said. “If you want to know what’s in there, then you would have to wait until I give you the tour. You’ll both be the first people inside there other than me.”
“Really?” Terra asked. “Is it some kind of man cave that I keep hearing about?”.
“He-he,” Jaune chuckled. “Man cave? No. It’s a training ground, but there are other facilities. If you like, since I would no longer need to hide my training, I can bring the family there and go swimming.”
“You have a pool?!” Saphron said. “No fair! You’ve been swimming without us.”
“Not swimming,” Jaune explained. “I trained in it for an aquatic type of Grimm like a Sea Feilong.”
“That doesn’t make any sense,” Saphron said. “How can you train against a Sea Feilong? They aren’t native to Domrémy. There is no way you caught one and brought it to your training facility. It would have to be gigantic.”
Jaune didn’t say anything. Gigantic it was. The training facility is as big as the city of Vale, even if the outside doesn’t show it. Jaune can’t wait to see their faces when they enter.
“By the way,” Terra said. “How long is it going to take for us to arrive in Vale? Normally, if we took the bullhead, it would take at least seven hours.”
“It wouldn’t take that long,” Jaune said. “I suggest you buckle up since we’re going supersonic.”
“That’s funny,” Saphron said and chuckled. “Not even Atlas has been able to make supersonic bullheads.”
“I’m not joking,” Jaune said. “The Quinjet was designed to reach mission location as quickly as possible. This thing will bring us to Vale in an hour. And Saph, don’t compare me to Atlas, I am far more capable than they can ever imagine.”
‘Even if I don’t use AoE,’ Jaune thought. ‘I can build things they can only dream of, like the Arc Reactor of Tony Stark, who knew it was something that could be made. Atlas’ over-reliance on Dust will cause their downfall when the resource is gone.’
“Come on, Ladies,” Jaune said. “Buckle up, and I shall show you whether I’m lying or not.”
Jaune was smirking. When Saphron and Terra saw this, they knew that Jaune was not joking. Whenever Jaune smirks the way he is now, he’s going to do something that terrifies just about anyone. Saphron remembered when a travelling Huntsman teased Jaune, that man was not the same afterwards. The Huntsman would be paranoid about something, they didn’t know what Jaune did, but it was something they avoided.. Never make Jaune have a mischievous smirk, or else it would be your downfall.
